Cain became a Shamrock Greyhound on September 20, 2003 when he made the long haul from Daytona. At 5:30am that morning the hauler called to say they were only 1.5 hour out from the drop point - they were running early. That rarely happens, but they have a schedule to keep. I threw on some clothes & headed to the drop point in Bullitt County.
There were 2 groups there picking up dogs. Cain was a real stand out - what a ham. He really enjoyed showing off for all the people & posing for photos. The picture above was taken the day we got him.
He had a foster home waiting for him. Cain worked his charm & in less than a month in their care they called to say Cain had found his home.
We lost Cain on August 3, 2007. At just 8.5 years old, he was one of the young victims of Osteosarcoma.
